Garment Technician

This role requires a highly focused, self-motivated individual who can join the team to further improve standards to control and maintain consistency of quality and fit through the garment approval process, ensuring it reflects the customer and brand image. A very high level of accuracy and attention to detail is necessary and the ability to follow through to successful completion is absolutely essential. Good organisational skills are essential as well as the ability to work as part of a team and/or individually. The role involves liaising with offshore suppliers and team members therefore Mandarin and English speaking and written skills are essential for the role.



Key responsibilities

· Responsible for establishing, communicating and implementing standards relevant to fit, manufacturing and quality to support our company objectives.
· Responsible for implementing and managing off-shore quality control inspections and reporting.
· Work closely with offshore manufacturers and quality control team to follow and achieve the critical path from design, sampling, fit, corrections, pre-production and bulk approval.
· Generation of specifications and gradings.
· Conduct internal sample fittings to ensure correct fit/specification requirements have been followed and meet brand expectations.
· Communicate all amendments to offshore manufacturer clearly and concisely.
· Measure and QC the fit samples and have final QC approval responsibility prior to shipping.
· Maintenance of garment approval schedule and style approval packs, including approval samples, lab dips, print strike offs, trims in conjunction with Designer.
· Risk assessment - Identify any potential production and quality issues and offer resolutions, before proceeding to bulk production.


To be successful you will have:

· In depth technical knowledge in garment construction, preferably in woman's wear
· Proficient in verbal and written skills in English and Chinese (Mandarin).
· 3+ years experience in a similar role is highly valued.
· Firm understanding of the timelines involved in offshore garment manufacturing and the approval process.
· Good organisational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Excellent Excel skills. Skills in Illustrator is highly valued
· Positive work attitude is a must.
