Key responsibilities:
- Installing and configuring computer hardware, systems, networks, printers and so on
- Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations where required
- Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring POS system
- Receive and respond to incoming calls and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems
- Setting up accounts for new users
- Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
- Provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operation and other issues
- Provide after hours IT support on a rotating basis
- Any other tasks that the employer requires necessary for the operation and management of the business
Requirements:
- Diploma or university degree, preferably in the field of computer science/information systems or related degree
- Technical skills with strong problem solving and time management skills
- Intermediate computer skills - predominantly in software and hardware (Networking would be advantage)
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Knowledge of IT hardware, software and telecommunications
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively
Desirable:
- Experience in a technical support role
- Experience in databases such as MsSQL, MySQL is a plus
- Point of Sales (POS) experience
