Maintenance Fitter

We are a market leading food manufacturer located in Western Sydney. Proudly demonstrating continued year on year growth and is a house hold brand across Australia. Working on state of the art machinery across a variety of production lines, you will be joining a business which prides itself on its culture, working environment and the quality of its product.
Within this position you will be responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of production machinery. You will be working with a variety of automated and semi automated equipment and will manage the effective maintenance, repair and efficiency projects relating to this equipment. As a Maintenance Fitter you will work on product change-overs, preventative maintenance schedules, actioning all breakdowns, minimising downtime on food production, packaging lines and implement initiatives to improve OEE.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing and arranging production lines for the many different products that are manufactured in house
• Required to maintain plant and equipment at optimum levels to guarantee maximum production levels
• Attending to line breakdown whilst ensuring minimum loss of production
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
• Carry out design and make projects as required by the Engineering Services Manager
• Observe and adhere to stringent OH& S regulations and procedures
• Perform pneumatic and hydraulic duties as required
• Working with all types of liquid filler, blister, labelling, packaging and carton machines
• Working within tight schedules and timelines without compromising safety standard
Qualifications & Certificates
• Australian Driver's license
• Fitter Australian Trade No 31266
• Restricted Electrical licence
• Food Operation and Maintenance
• Chemical Occupational Health & Safety Concepts
• Health & Safety at Work
• Forklift Driver's license
Professional Skills & Attributes
• Experienced Welder
• Pneumatic & Hydraulic Experience
• Reliable and Flexible
• Recent & extensive experience in a maintenance fitter role
• The ability to work in a team
• The ability to work in a dusty factory environment
• The right attitude towards safety
• Organisational skills
• The ability to show initiative and work autonomously
• The ability to follow programs and fill out paperwork where necessary
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong electrical experience in an automated environment, preferably food, FMCG or pharmaceutical environments. You will have excellent mechanical and hold technical trade qualifications. Extensive experience in the process or packaging manufacturing environment; experience with automation such as bagging, case packing/erecting, conveyors and experience with multi head weighing equipment, bag and box packaging will be an advantage.
