The Company:

Buffalo Innovation is a technology-based installation company in the Telecommunications market, specialising in Cellular, Microwave Radio, Fibre, Data, Transmission deployment and maintenance.

The role:

We have been awarded some major projects and are currently going through an exciting period of growth. As a result, we are looking for a solid Senior Field Technician (wireless) to assist with driving our delivery on a range of major telecommunications projects we have currently, as well as in the pipeline.
The positions will be based in Sydney with travel to regional areas and other states as required. And will be of a Permanent nature and will pay above award rates commensurate with the applicant's experience.


Reporting to the Field Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Providing upgrades, installation, commissioning, swap-outs, maintenance and repair support of customer telecommunications equipment and systems
• Installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair support of Client Radio Network systems
• Conducting site surveys
• Ensuring that QHSE Policy requirements are observed and followed and any hazard or non

In order to be considered for the role we are targeting the following skills and qualifications:

• A certificate 3 in telecommunications or a diploma certification with Electro-Technology or Telecommunications engineering
• RF Awareness Certificate
• Working at Heights Certificate
• Industry Construction Card
• 2+ years of experience installing and commissioning GSM/WCDMA/LTE radio access network equipment
• Experience installing and familiarity with the current suite of Nokia, Huawei and Ericsson BTS products.
• Experience installing and commissioning DC Rectifiers, Batteries and DC power distribution
• Experience installing and commissioning transmission systems including PDH, SDH, DWDM, ATM, IP and Carrier Ethernet
• Analytical approach to fault resolution and use of test equipment
• High levels of verbal and written communications skills
• Skilled in MS applications including excel and word.
• Willingness to travel regularly to sites across the state for installations and possibly interstate
• Willingness to work at heights with the ability to comfortably operate at heights regularly (i.e. climbing 30-metre monopoles would be highly desirable).
