Kinokuniya Bookstores of Australia is the largest retail bookstore in the Asia Pacific region, with over 80 operations worldwide. Located in the heart of Sydney CBD, we pride ourselves in being the largest bookstore in Australia with expansive space and specialised departments spanning from Comics to Art and Design.

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for providing support in various human resource functions, which includes recruitment, staffing, training and development, performance monitoring, employee counselling and WHS.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Providing support to the HR team in all areas
General HR administrative duties
Organising, compiling, and updating personnel records and documentation
Completing end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll, as well as completing monthly Superannuation
Assisting the HR Officer with award interpretation
Updating HR databases
Assisting with the recruitment process
Assisting in organising new employee orientation, on boarding and training programs such as staff inductions
Assisting with performance management, including the management review process
Assisting in providing advice to staff and management on pay and benefits, while adhering to employment standards and legislation
Assisting in managing OH&S within workplace and organising OH&S committee meetings
Monthly HR reports
Managing/assisting student work experience and internship programs


To be considered for this role you:

Are tertiary qualified in Human Resources (or a related field)
Have the ability to effectively use computer software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role
Have strong interpersonal skills
Have excellent organisational and time management skills
Have strong attention to details
Are able to work autonomously
